Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Best BBq in the south

Three Alabama boys, Mike Fernandez (from Tuscaloosa), Ben Gilbert (from Athens), and Jeff Kennedy (from Huntsville) founded Moe’s Original BBQ. The three friends met at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and clicked on their interests in football, whisky, blues, and BBQ. Moses Day, skilled in making fire-roasted meats taught Mike and Gabo his brother how to fire-roast meat in 1988 and the brothers started Moe’s Original Bar B Que & Steaks which in 2001 eventually became Moe’s Original Bar B Que in 2001 after the friends met at the university. Moses’ legendary art of meat barbecuing makes up Moe’s BBQ‘s original flavor. The start of MOB was at the Cougar Ridge Café in Minturn, Colorado where they roasted meats on a charcoal grill at one of the friends’ (Jeff Kennedy’s) doublewide mobile house on the river.
