In the beautiful port city of Mobile, Alabama on the gulf coast of Mexico lies a breathtaking bay that extends from the mobile river to the Fort Morgan peninsula on an island called Dauphin. The Mobile Bay spans over four hundred and thirteen miles and is the fourth biggest bay in the United States of America. The name for this unusual but natural annual occurrence is a “jubilee” and it is mind-blowing to know that the mobile bay is the only location in the world where this happens often. This event attracts a large number of crowds due to the ease of catching seafood in abundance.

Apart from being a nice vacation spot and tourist delight, the mobile bay has an essence of historical value. The mobile bay was the scene of an American Civil war, “the naval battle” which started on the 5th of August and ended on the 23rd of August, 1864. It was here that Union Admiral David Farragut scattered the confederate fleet and captured the forts including fort Morgan which was the strongest fort at the Mobile point.
