Enjoy Trains at the Foley Railroad Museum & Model Train Exhibit

Located in the City of Foley, the railroad museum features memorabilia, photos, and tools showcasing Foley’s history and how the railroad contributed to the areas’ development.

From Bay Minette in 1905, John B. Foley self-financed the extension of the railroad to his town. But, unfortunately, this railroad called L & N Railroad didn’t last long because of a fire outbreak.

However, the community built another station in 1909, and that’s what you see when you visit Foley Railroad Museum & Model Train Exhibit today. The museum is over a hundred years old, with precious artifacts detailing Foley’s history. You can visit this museum every day from 10 am to 3 pm except on Sundays. The Model Train Exhibit at Foley showcases a terrific train model of O scale covering 12,000 sq ft tabletop. Many of the trains here are remote-controlled, while others are actual trains conveying passengers across the layout. Exciting side attractions include a comprehensive model town, an open-air drive with tunnels and textile bridges made of wood, plus a delightful potato shed.

Engineers who operate the trains are super-excited about their job, and they love answering questions you may have. However, you can only visit this Model Train Exhibit on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 10 am and 2 pm on each of these selected days.
